Not to bring up an old thread, but
If I sell my '88 (guy is supposed to come get it this week), I found a '93 F250 7.3 IDI auto for $1200. It has some rust, but I want to get into the newer style. The front fenders are the worse, box isnt too bad.
Theres a catch though- it has 370K on it. The trans has 100K on it and IP is somewhere around 30. The engine is assumed to be original. I'd really love to get it and roll it over to 400K to impress my chevy friends who think the 6.2/6.5s are the greatest thing ever and 7.3s are junk. I'm just a little worried, thats a LOT of miles. I'm going to go look at it if I sell mine. As long as the blow-by isn't too bad and it sounds healthy I think I'll be ok.

1993 F250, non turbo, 4x4, xlt, reg cab,3:55's,E40D, two tone, with just 47,000 miles
Just got mine.Haven't run her yet.
Coming out of a 96 f150 with a 300/6 I think I'm in for a treat!
to do list:
Dump body
4 new tires
just put two new rear shocks on tonight.-two front's tomorrow
front u-jonts
two rear brake cables
belt tensioner
two or three overloads per side
b&m lite truck shift kit
trans cooler
fluid flush and change in everything
1 caliper (went to bleed brakes after putting in master cylinder and saw the bleeder screw had been broken off)
possibly new brakes-haven't checked them yet
wiper blades
recess hitch
front end alignment
truck starts hard cold.but not digging yet until she has had some fresh clean diesel through her for a week after running steady,as the truck has been sitting for a long time.
soup bowl mod.(after i run it for a bit-I want to be able to feel the difference)
latter, once on the road for a bit:
two good used front fenders
fresh new paint job (thinking, cherry red metallic with black metallic making up the two tone-currently red/gray w red interior)
I think I'm going to like my new 444CI International
