Trying to guage a value on this 79 F100. Help.

Hello all. I am trying to help out a good female friend by placing her lifted 79 F100 for sale. She traded her Brother her civic for it a few years back when he got out of the Military and needed a family car for his newborn. She has had it for a few years but hasnt really used it all as it was a 2nd vehicle and really only owns it because she was doing her brother a favor in his time of need. Anyhow she is getting a divorce and wants this truck off her books so to speak as she traded it before she got married. So I am trying to help her sell it and I have no idea what ballpark to list it in. Any advice will be appreciated. This is the info I have:
1979 4x2 F100 with what appears to be a 302 and a C6 trans. Engine and trans rebuilt maybe 15k miles ago. Bought in CA when the Marine was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Truck was repainted at some point but is now suffering from faded paint on the roof, hood, and bed rails. Lifted a couple inches with 33x12.5 BFG AT ko's. How many inches would be required for this? Some new interior bits, carpet, steering wheel, seat cover etc. Spray in bed liner. Here are a couple pics. 3" catback and cat con. Truck runs good and will pass inspection. Any ideas where to start on pricing? 2k, 3k, 4k, 5k?

I'm no expert, but it looks to be in pretty good shape. How many miles? Does the air still blow cold? (and by far the most important question) Does it have any body filler plugging up previous rot? If it runs good, has low miles and wasn't previously bandaged together with bondo, you have got quite a gem there...at least in Michigan you would, because short boxes of that vintage are a rare commodity here. There is a vintage truck parts supplier in my state that gets $2500 just for a rust free 73-79 6ft bed! So, that being said, if I were selling that truck here, I would start somewhere between 7 and 8 grand and leave room for negotiation.

You mentioned that the F-100 was a 4x2...I assume that means that it is a 2-wheel drive, right?

They mentioned that it was a CA truck, but it has PA tags, but I haven't heard back from the original poster.

We've gotten off topic, I'm no good at estimating value so I'll leave it to the pros.

I paid 3400 for mine. Pretty much the same truck. I bought mine in Cali too. Mine was running pretty rough though. I'd say you could get upwards of $5k for it if you waited long enough. The short bed is fairly sought after.

i know up here in Southern Ontario, Canada you could ask 10 grand easily for that truck,

yep prices up here are insane, thus you can make a profit if you bring it to Ontario!

but then again, why sell it? looks like a nice truck, and she did good trading a Civic for a dentside, there is no Civic in existence that i would trade my truck for!
