39 pickup back spacing
I would like to put 15" X 7" smoothies with 225 75 r 15 tires on the back of my stock rearend 39. I am concerened about back spacing the rims so I can put stock Ford small hub caps on and clear the axle and nut. I measure that I need 4 inch back spacing. Anyone have a similar setup?
Thanks in advance for advice.

Pete,
I cant help directly, only to give a point of reference on my BS (suppose that could be taken several ways ).
I have an 8 in. rear, which is narrower than orig. 15X7 wheels, 205 60 15 tires. It needed as little back space as possible, 2 1/8 in. So 4 in. at least sounds in the ball park. Someone else will no doubt pop in.

back spacing advice
Hi,
when I had a problem like this, I went to a Discount Tire store in Houston and asked to speak with the manager, they were very helpful, got great advice.....even sent me to their recycling center, I got some free steel rims that were discards to try out a few combinations. they were so great that the manager of the recycling center even made up a box of lug nuts and valve stems for me just in case. wonderful people.
