Stupid Question

Just got my truck(no engine or tranny), have resto and ref books on the way but can't wait. To keep my 51 F3 as stock as possible can I use any flathead v8 made in 51 or is there other criteria to consider in keeping the numbers consistant?

Thanks,
Greenhorn

The 1948 - 1953 Ford Truck Flathead V8 did not have maching numbers assigned to the engine/truck.
Most engines didn't have any numbers except the casting numbers.

Find a good Ford Flatmotor and have a ball.
