perfect, thats just what i want - a truck not much louder than stock but with an unrestrictive muffler.

looks like i gotta buck up and go for the $140 70 series flowmaster.

I was thinking of taking the cat off, but I have to be able to pass emissions.

I think cherry bombs are alright. They sound nice but once they get about 3k burn in time theyre awesome!

Yeah if you still have the stock two cats you actually don't need a muffler cause i don't have one(have the muffler just to lazy to rip the exhaust apart again) the only thing bad not having a muffler is your backpressure sucks, it back fires alot when your on the pedal. like i said with mine the glasspacks are great but that's with the two cats once i replace it with one highflow i don't know if it's gonna be louder or not so can't help you out there.

Thats why its so quiet. Especially if you have the stock cat. Buy the Flowmater 50 Series SUV or a Super 40 and sell him your 70 series. I think a super 40 would sound great. I don't know how loud you want it, but Lew is right. You may be able to get by with out any muffler at all if you still have the stock cat. It depends on what you want.

Gibson might be something to look at too. Their stuff is made well and sounds good and is not loud.

Try looking on ebay for a 70 series.

What TexasGuy said. The 40 and 44 series aren't as loud as you might think. They have a nice idle but only really roar when you stomp on it.
