5.0 liter with NP435 transmission, possible?

Greetings,

Did Ford ever offer the NP435 behind the 5.0 engine?
If so, what years should I be looking at for a doner motor?

Don't know if it you could get one from the factory but you can use the bellhousing from a 300 six and a 351W work on a 302, the 351Ws would be from 82 and up I think and the 300 could be from just about any year. Check F250s and 350s will be your best bet for a 435. If you find one with a 351W make sure the balance is correct they changed to a 50oz counter weight in the 80s instead of the earlier 28, and the 300 is internally balanced so you will have to find the right flywheel.

Juice clutch from about '84 up IIRC. '87 and later would usually be the Mazda or ZF boxes, both of which had integral bells. Don't forget E150s in your search, some had 3 speeds, some 4 speed ODs and thus a separate bell with an external hydraulic clutch set up.

I have seen a 435 in a 90 F250 don't know when they stopped for sure. Also if all you want is a bullet proof granny 4spd don't rule out the T18, might be a little easier to find.

I have a 1977 F-150 with a 302 and NP435 tranny, the guy i got it from said it came with the 300 six but when i ran the numbers it said my truck had a 351m in it. You can use 300, 302, or 351w on the same Np435 trans
