Does anyone know what the crush thickness is on a felpro and/or Ford head gasket? Had a felpro on it and valves just barley touch The ford gasket is thicker out of the box but dont know how they compare when installed

 

miller, how much did your machine shop take off of your heads? i was told you can take as much as .005" without thicker head gaskets. I know, i know the factory manual says you cant. just relaying some info. there are different thicknesses of gaskets too. in theory, replacement fel pro;'s should be the same crush. sorry to hear about your truck troubles. fwiw, i used felpro's on dads psd this past winter/spring and no worries. i also have my heads going on in a few days and have fels waiting to be smushed

 

they just dressed the heads .005 or .006. We took .005 off the top of teh valves this time and are going with a little heavier valve spring. where can i find a thicker head gasket? I haven't been able to find anything other than have a copper one made

 

Finally found it. Ford head gasket .060 Felpro gasket .062

 

gotta get a pair,what is the cost on these?
