06 F250 with shaker 500

Hi Guys, maybe someone can help with a small problem with the display illumination? I installed a new 6pack from an07 ford 500 and it worked great but i lost the steering wheel controls, i thought that ok as long as i got the 6 pack. Then along came a shaker 500 unit out of an 05 mustang and it works with everything except the illumination is backwards,(bright during the day, dull at night, and doesn't adjust with dimmer switch)
It be nice to remedy this if possible, if anyone has any suggestions that be great.
Thank you

Radio 12v
lt. green/purple
+
radio harness

Radio Ground black and black/lt. green - radio harness
Radio Ignition pink + radio harness
Radio Illumination lt. blue/red (dimmer) + radio harness
Factory Amp Turn-on N/A
Power Antenna N/A
LF Speaker +/- orange/lt. grn - lt. blue/wht +,- radio harness
RF Speaker +/- white/lt. grn - dk. green/org +,- radio harness
LR Speaker +/- gray/lt. blue - tan/yellow +,- radio harness
RR Speaker +/- orange/red - brown/pink +,- radio harness
I couldn't find a tech sheet on the 05 mustang, but it sounds kind of like when you use the illum circuit on the radio's dimmer input. Disabling the lt blu/red wire should stop it from dimming. Then if you can find a pin out for the radio, you might see if it list both the dimmer and illum inputs.

I did the same swap a couple of years ago and had the same problem. No one knew how to get the dimmer to work correctly and I tried all sorts of testing myself and had no luck.

But it was still worth it for the better sound that the Shaker puts out!!!

Thank you ReAX for your reply, I have the schematic for the radio from a mustang forum showwing the 3 plugs on the back and telling what each pin is for. I just don't know if lum+ or the lum- is what i'm looking for, maybe needs swapping? I'll have to see if
(Radio Illumination lt. blue/red (dimmer) + radio harness) is onto which pin. I still need to open my dash to wire my rear amp power on somewhere into the circuit. it,s just hooked to a wire that turns on in acc and run. any suggestions on where best to hook it up?
Thanks again on the quick reply and for your help.

I don't see it listed, but if you see a blue wire (no tracer) it will be switched with the radio. This wire should be there even though you don't have a power antenna (mine did). Otherwise any ignition/accy switched wire will work in a pinch.
