New Molded Carpet Kit for 2000 CC PSD.

I just purchased a 2000 CC PSD and it's in awesome condition except for the carpet. It STINKS. The previous owner had a dog and obviously kept him in the back. I've tried having shampooed but it didn't help. I thought I could live with it but I get sick from the smell now. I found a molded carpet kit for just under $300 dollars but I was wandering if anyone had done it before and how hard it is and what's involved. Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Its not at all that difficult. First thing I would do is crawl underneath and locate all the bolt ends for the seat bolts and seat belt anchot studs. Spray them down with a good penatrating oil (Like PB Blaster). Depending on what they look like, you may want to do this a few times. Your gonna need Torx bits for the seatbelt bolts. If you have power seats, just locate the plug under the seats and disconnect. Find all the bolt heads and remove bolts. If you have bench seat, I would suggest getting someone to help remove the seats. Remove or loosen any trim that may need to be removed (if the carpet goes behind it) Remove old carpet, install new, reinstall everything. You may want to wash down the area in question with a good deoderizer/neutralizer before putting new carpet in place.

I'm thinking it's probably an all day Saturday project.

The carpet remove and replace can be done in under two hours easy. I use an air wrench to remove my seat bolts. Much easier as Ford puts Locktite on each one. Probably won't be any corrosion because of it.

I would take the time to soundproof the bottom while you're in there. I did on my Excursion and it made quite a difference. But that's up to you.

Where'd you get your carpet from? Here's a place if you want to do some comparisons. The link will take you to the molded vinyl but you can find molded carpet there as well.

Thanks for the link. Good prices on there. I I think the sound proofing would be good although with diesel what's the point, right?
