I have a 97 F-150. Please don't ask the color! Anyways, My driver's side window stopped working just recently. I've checked the fuses and they're good and everything else works including the passenger window from both controls. I hear a clicking noise from the area near the motor when I press the button.

I've removed the panel and the weather-stripping. I've also tried tapping the motor, but that doesn't seem to work. So has anyone else dealt with something like this? Is it the motor that doesn't work? Also, I am not able to pull the window up with my hand. Also, if I do need to replace the motor how do I remove it. There only seems to be rivet like things holding the motor in place inside the door. Thanks for any help you can give.

Welcome to FTE brad2388! When the power window stopped working on my old `97 Taurus, I took the door panel off and unplugged the wiring harness from it. I then hooked up some jumper wires to the motor terminals. The other end of the jumper wires were connected to a 12 volt power supply. Reversing the leads at the power supply a time or two got the motor going again. Then the other side quit and this didn't work. Got a new motor and while there are rivets that are readily evident on the inner door frame, the motor was held in place by three screws. The new motor came with new screws. Good luck!
