HELLO, i have a 92 f150 xlt with a v8 302 engie and i have had it for about 5 months now and i am putting a quirt of oil in every 2 weeks or so!!puttin on around 500 miles !is this normal?? there are no big leaks i dont have any big oil spots where i park besides i normal any car oil spots! now i came from a little ford ranger so it doesnt seem normal to me can someone give me an answer to calm my nerves! or give me any tips to help me out? i am useing the cheap 10w-30 oil! my question is to stop burning so much should i change to sysntic oil do you think that would help?? thanks

How many miles do you have? I also have a 92 F 150 with 3.02 and at 94K miles use no oil. It could be your PCV valve. Put in a new Ford one. I put a non Ford one in my Aerostar and the oil consumption went from a quart every 3000 miles to 500 miles. You can also pull your plugs and look and see how much oil they have been using, sooty & carbon filled. Than run a compression check. Did you run the engine on low oil? I have see people do that and destroy their rings & cylinders where the vehicle used oil like mad. I would check the PVC. Than plugs & compression check.
