1989 351w to a NP435

Why fool with a Z bar? You can use a juice clutch on a bell, Ford did it on lots of mid-'80s rigs.
As long as you get the correct depth bell for the sbf pattern, that accomodates the 351w starter location, it will bolt up. Check pilot bearing, input shaft diameter etc.
Are you replacing another manual or an auto?
Cross member and trans mount may need to be changed or may bolt right up. DS may have to be lengthened/shortened.

If the Z bar is attached to the cylinder block, you'll have a bit of trouble. The 1989 engine doesn't have the threaded hole machined, although the casting is still there to accommodate it. You might be able to drill and tap the hole with a mag base drill or benchtop drill press bolted to it.

Juice clutch = hydraulic clutch as used in Fords from the mid-'80s up. Also used in '50s trucks, and the C series mediums.
Eliminates the problems inherent in the z-bar set up which mounts between the frame and the ever-moving engine. Eliminates the geometry puzzle when dealing with conversion situations. Eliminates friction and binding.

What would be cheaper and easier, converting to a hydraulic clutch or changing to a C-6 that i aldready have or find a ZF-5spd since i would be converting to a hyd. clutch, and would all that hook up to my NP205. It shure would be nice to have the extra gear, i just dont know what path to go down
