1961/67 F100's were not available with a 9 inch rear axle with Limited Slip (L/S).
If L/S was ordered, the rear axle usually is Spicer-Dana 44 =
C2TZ4234A .. 19 Spline Axle Shaft / Right/Left is the same.
Ford also offered...as an option...a Spicer-Dana 60 with/without L/S for F100's.
C9TZ4234C .. 16 Spline Axle Shaft / Right/Left is the same / With/without L/S is the same.

People automatically assume their 1957/79 F100; 1975/79 F150 has a 9 inch, so they don't bother to look.
In fact, 1959/60's could also have a Dana 44; 1961/67's could have a Dana 44 or 60; 1977/79 F100/150's could also have a Dana 44.
btw: 1968 was the first year for 31 splines...but this rear end was an option, and though classified as a 9, the ring gear is 9 3/8" in diameter.
Only five parts are the same as a 9 inch.
Most 1968/72 F100's have 28 splines, as do many 1973/79's.

I've been searching recycle yards in my area for a replacement axle shaft. There aren't too many f100's in the 57-67 range w/ usable parts remaining.
I was wondering if other cars/trucks used these same shafts.
thanks in advance,
KC
