What should I expect to pay?

I don't know what you found when you went to take a look, but I'm with the others. If it's really a solid truck, you'd better buy it. I went to look at a '52 F-2 a week ago and the pitures were a little deceiving. Ran OK and drove decent, but pretty much the whole bed was shot. Nothing left but rust and bondo. The cab wasn't too rusty, but it was beat to hell. The roof looked like someone had walked around on it. The front fenders and hood were bondo sculptures and the front bumper and gravel pan looked like they had been worked over by a sledge hammer. His asking price for this "nice, rust-free truck with a lot of potential": 2 G's The only thing there worth having was a smooth-running flatty.

We just agreed on a deal at $1650 over the phone and internet. I hope it is as good as it looks and sounds. I'll go pick it up on Monday. 3-1/2 hour drive down then again back. Should be a fun trip. Maybe if I was still yet a little more patient, I could have gotten it cheaper, but I'm happy with the price. All the glass is clear without fogging or cracks, No rust in doors, fenders, cab mounts, or floors. A small amount in the drivers cab corner.

you might pay more up front , but the better the shape it's in the less headaches you'll have down the road , especially with a fridge as there doesn't seem to be a lot of oparts out there for them . from the pics it looks good . i paid 2700 for my 53 running , not driveable , and feel i got a deal so ......... hades havi i know it wasn't exactly what you were wanting , and i tried to float a loan for it myself , but you shoulda seen twises 57 . it may have been a 3/4 ton long box , but son it was purty and outside of needing some duals and purty rims it was straight and clean , and he drove it every day . tim sold it and someone is relly happy i'd bet .
