Manual Transmission won't shift in 1992 F150

I have a 1992 Ford F150 with a 302 engine and manual transmission. I believe it has a hydraulic clutch. I noticed that the clutch did not have much tension in it and I had to push it practically against the floor to get it to shift. Now it won't shift at all. It looked like there was enough clutch fluid. I think it uses SAE 3 brake fluid but I'm not sure about that? This happened before and the garage said it was low on fluid. They added more fluid and bled the air out and adjusted it. I drove it for 2 weeks and now the problem has reoccurred and now I can't even get it into gear at least without really fighting and messing with it. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like either your clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder is bad. If you still now have a full resevoir, I'd say it might be the clutch master cylinder. If it was a bad or leaking slave cylinder, the fluid would probably still be low. Unless you see leaking from the slave cylinder, (only able to see if the slave cylinder is externally mounted on the transmission) I'd replace the clutch master cylinder. I had to do this about 10,000 miles ago.

I have the same sort of problem with my 93 5.0 5spd 4x4. The trans is hard to get into gearwhile running but if the engine is off ist shifts fine It had a new clutch, pressure plate, and had the fly wheel turned a year ago in December. The clutch also squawks when depressed and released. I disconnected the master pushrod from the linkage and tried again and no noise, so it is either in the master or slave cylinder. The master seems to hold it's level but I have not purged the system of possible air yet. Maybe tomorrow. Any other suggestions?

The whole clutch and cylinder kits is only what 200$? cheaper than repeated visits to the mechanic.
