flywheel and flexplate sequence

flywheel and flexplate sequence
I am close to finishing my rebuild on my '87 6.9 but it has been so long since I removed the flywheel and flexplate I want to be sure I have it correct. I am sure the sequence is (from the crank towards the torque converter) flywheel, then flexplate, and then the 4" spacer. However, I am unsure if the driveplates are supposed to be installed with the contours out or in. Does anyone remember off the top of their head the installation of these three driveplates?
