Hi folks - I am looking to purchase a 2006 F-350 Lariat with 6.0 diesel and 45,000kms (or 28,000 miles). Had an Oasis Report done and only the above was recorded (because "does not operate properly"), and that was at 42,000 kms. The mechanic ran the TSB 08-4-7 (turbo cleaning) and everything seems fine now. Being extremely ignorant and non-mechanical - is this cause or concern of potential problems?

The mileage and past cleaning may indicate a driver that just wasn't using the truck much. If you want these trucks to stay running you got to use it, get the turbo working and hot to help burn off the carbon. Do you know the build date of the truck? You can find this on the driver's door label near the bottom.

 

Hey thanx for the quick reply. The build date is Feb 25, 2006. It may very well be as you suggest. This is an x-rental to a RV rental company.... and good advice if I purchase this unit... or any other diesel....

 

That truck is considered a Job#2 production truck. There are some differences compared to other earlier '06 trucks.

If you can get the price where you want it you still got plenty of motor warranty left. 3/36 is almost up, maybe bargin with the dealer for an additional warranty. Buy it and drive it!!
