OK. Am I brave!! I have received a questionable C6 transmission. I plan on rebuilding it my self!!!!!. Have experience in rebuilding all types of engines,carbs,rearends, etc. ( the right way). I have the orgin shop manuals' for my truck. I have reviewed the proccedure for rebuilding the C6 in it seems quite simple. I plan on buying a master rebuild kit for the parts. My question is there some little secrets hidden about this rebuild. Thanks Art

 

I rebuilt my C6 using the B&M Transkit part #40230. It came with good instructions that included a few mods/upgrades that could be done such as adding additional clutch plates to the Reverse-High clutch and drilling additional oil holes to the Forward Clutch. There are also certain parts that can be swaped from Ford's newer overdrive automatic to give more torque capacity and change 1st & 2nd gear ratios lower.
