Monday's progress pic's posted
Well, I got some pic's posted...
prep firewall...didn't fill in all the holes as I want to run alot of the stock components
finished old school wimpelton white...
Next was tackeling the floor, after getting the new front cab mounts and floor patch panels in I wanted to seal it up real tight...I used POR15 semi gloss. the same I used for the frame. This is what I started out with
end result:
passenger side
driver side
the last project was to coat the ram horns. they were pretty pitted so, I did some lite surface grinding, then coated them with a hight temp paint, three coats...i'm satified...

Question: I have only used POR 15 on frames. I like it. What do you think of using it on a flexable metal, since it is hard like a two part epoxy. Does it have some give so there isn't any cracking of the coating? I am wanting to paint: in the cab, under the fenders, under the running boards, firewall, etc, everything but the exterior with POR15. Thanks, chuck
PS I looked at your HAMB, came back and wrote this, and all of your pictures are now shown.

still no. May be because the pix are hosted elsewhere and links there are blocked?
When you go there and see the pix, they are in your cache and then show up here because your browser checks your cache before going to the other site. Try putting the pix in an album on this site then link to those.

Chuck: yeah, Not to sure about the fexibility, POR porducts really adhear to the metal and cure rather hard, I've heard of guys spraying bed liner under their cabs, fender wells...as it is more flexible. I also, know that epoxy has flexibility, more so than powdercoat. So, I'll see what happens, I really like the POR15 as it KILLS the rust and seals the metal...the down side is if your wanting to paint over I know its tough to get paint to stick over the POR15

Nice progress.
POR-15 is pretty flexible. I remember seeing a demonstration a long time ago at a car show where they had some panels painted with it and you could bend and flex the panels with no cracking or flaking. I've used it in the past on sheetmetal with no problems. As long as you do the correct prep work on the surface it's pretty durable.

I just did my frame and cab in the POR-15 gloss black and it came out awesome as well.. It is a very flexable material even though it dries hard it says on the can will not crack blister or peel. Its great stuff! After i coated the cab with por-15 i top coated it with the lizard skin sound deadner and its just like a bed liner material and it came out great also.
