Whats the going rate for an F-150 these days?

How much would you pay for an 04-06 F-150 crew cab, 4x4, 5.4, xlt or Fx4, with between 50,000 and 75,000 miles? I know this is a large range of options but I just want to get a basic idea of how much I am going to need to spend. Ive been looking on cars.com and they have a lot of trucks that i like but the asking price is usually over 16k, which seems a little high to me.

Considering many of these vehicles sold in mid to high 30's, KR's in the 40's, the price is not bad at all. I just got an 06 lariat that is suhhwwheeattt!

Log onto KBB and look up trade-in value, private party value, and retail value and you'll get a decent idea of what the trucks are bringing these days. KBB goes by zip code, so the prices should be representative of your area.

that is just way too hard a range to even hazard a guess

try to pick out 2-3 trucks, and post 'em up.

Then we can hopefully steer you to more what it's market value is...and what to avoid on each truck (if anything).

Got my white 06 F-150 XLT scab with 5.4L, 3.73ls, 6.5' style side bed with black plastic caps, 17" chrome clad wheels with Michelin's, moon/sun roof(dealer installed), premium sound 6 disc cda/mp3/wma player, tow package, aftermarket tow brake(dealer installed), paint and interior treatment and warrantied for 5 years, and chrome step bars.

Still under factory 3/36 warranty until July 26, 2009 since it only had 9800 miles on it when I bought it for 17Kish after TTL.

I was seeing the same setups going for a couple grand higher with 5 times the mileage then my truck...then again this is Houston, Texas and the economy here never really dipped as hard as other places.

If/When you buy one, don't sell it. You'll never get what you paid for it, and in about 5 years, you won't be able to buy a new one. (I think) Drive it til the wheels fall off.

I traded in my 2006 FX4 Supercrew with the luxury package (leather, power everything, moonroof) with a Supercharger installed...only 26,000 miles, under factory warranty until Oct 2009.

the 06's with low mileage are still going for a really good rate...it is just hard to find them in excellent condition like mine was.

Mine was listed at $28,000 it's a 2007 FX4 SuperCrew with 40,000 miles and the luxury/convience package, sounds pretty simular to tylus's description. Not that aftermarket should effect the price, but mine has a 6" Pro Comp lift and Pro Comp wheels with new rubber on them. If I work through the BS numbers and take real values for my 2008 SD that I traded for it I got it for about $22,000 + a free Premium Ford warranty untill 100,000 miles with the $100 deductable. They really wanted my Super Duty I guess.
