I think you've already made up your mind my friend, you've been fully twitterpated by the green machine...make sure someone gets a good look at the frame. Also, pull back the carpet and look around. If it's real dirty under the carpet its a flood vehicle. Take a good look at all the fender gaps, everything should have a uniform gap. Try and get an Oasis on it...hell, try googleing the VIN. Keep in mind it's not going anywhere very quick, take your time. Good luck!

So i think this is what im going to do. Im going to go back down there to tomrrow with my father and drive the heck out of it, im going to take it to a certified mechanic maybe even two, not tell them anything about the vehicle having a salvage title and so on. Ill tell them to put it up on the lip and have them give me there opinion on the truck. I think a lot of these guys elling these salvaged title vehicles are running a total scam and are in with the insurance companies. What do you think?

That's gonna cost you a bit, but it sounds like you really want the thing so it might be worth it. Carfax says there are 16 items in the report for the truck. What are those 16 different things? How long has the truck been on the market? If it's been a little while, why hasn't someone else snatched it up?

In case you haven't pulled it already, here is the original window sticker for the truck...make sure everything is there when you check it out tomorrow.

The other day when i found the truck for sale online, the guy had just posted it because it said new listing on autotrader.com. yea, the carfax report was not of much help, basically said that the truck was purchased in arkansas and police report was filed in 9/20068 reporting damage to left rear. thats all it said. my biggest concern is frame. i have been reading articles all over and it seems like people are either way against salvaged vehicles or else look at it as an opportunity to get a good baragain.

Your local ford dealer MIGHT run an Oasis for you. Call them and tell them you're looking to buy a used f150 and would like more info on it. You should probably let them do the inspection. It will tell you everything that Ford knows about the vehicle. However, if it was wrecked and never taken to the dealer for repair it won't have any info that will help you. Also, concerning the mileage...keep in mind there is a chance that this vehicle is a hodge-podge of f150 parts from many trucks and therefore might not have a accurate mileage reading.

well im pretty sure the mileage is right because when the police report was filed it was 9/2008 and at that time it had 7,200 miles on it.., im not sure how much will the dealer charge me to do an inspection as opposed to going to someone local?

No clue as to price. Only Ford dealers (or those who work at a ford dealer) can run the Oasis...

No, i ended up passing on it. It pays to go backa couple times and really think about it before you make the decision to buy it. Interior wise the truck was mint, very low miles, and the exterior looked good but not soo good when u actually got real close and looked at it, it looked like the whole truck had been painted. I ended up saying screw it, too many flaws in it for me, and like all yall said, salvage is trouble, thanks for all the advice and opinions, now i got another problem! im trying to find me an 06-07 King Ranch for a reasonable price, i have checked ebay, autotrader, craigslist, the newspaper, but there just arent that many listed. where do i find my dream truck?
