bought this '49 from the neighbor 2 doors down for my 30th Bday last Oct, need to modify a universal alternator bracket this weekend and the motor should be done, then i've rebuilt all four brakes and just need to get the neighbor kid to help me bleed them (vacuum bleeding isn't working).

Bought my 48 F-3 in August, 2002, and started working on it in May of 2003. Got it running and drivable in 2006 but still have not painted it. Bought my 49 F-1 in 2005 and started working on it in May of 2008. Might not ever finish either one....

Purchased my first '50 F-1 in November of 2007. (Completely dis-assembled parts truck, no title) Purchased my current '50 F-1 project and future project '50 F-2 in March 2008. Got the F-1 home on March 10th and my wife broke her ankle on March 12th. After several operations to install pins and plates plus 3 months in a rehab center, I have been Mr. Mom for about a year. Finally this spring am getting to work on the truck. Detailing the engine compartment, new shocks, brake overhaul, new fuel line, new water pump. Hopefully will have it on the road before the end of the year. Then the body work will start. Not long compared to many here but having just as much fun. Plans are for a modified restoration. Will start on the rewire in the next few days.

I checked with the geology dept at KS State U. and they advised me that I'm not older than dirt, but I have had my 54 F250 since '94 and it has been a driver fixer upper since then until this winter. Then it went into some friends of my son in laws shop for a redo and finally to get body work and paint done. It will be coming home in a couple of weeks so I can do stuff bass akwards and start upgrading steering, interior, etc. Maybe by the middle of the summer it will be on the road again.

It has been great fun. I used it to tow a trailer with the 48 F5 home about 7 years ago. I also bought a 94 chebbie diesel 3500 PU with a bad clutch and about 150 miles away from home back in 2001 and pulled it home with the old '54. I can't wait to get the old girl back on the road again.

I got my 53 in Nov. of 07, have the frame and front and rearend done and the motor is rebuilt (351W). Then the economy turned sour so I haven't done much since October. Got the 51 in Feb. 08, its still sitting where we off loaded it. Someday........

it's been two years since i took it down to the frame. 3 to 4 hours a day during the week and 8 hours on the weekend. painting the final pieces the end of the month and then start putting it back together.

Bob, I'll have to dig around and see if I have any pictures of that. I can't remember if I took some or not of the '54 dragging the trailer with the chebbie.

Everytime I drove by the farmers field I saw the '54 just sittin and sittin. In 2006 I finally talked my wife into getting it. On the way home it died...the wireing was shot...I finially got it running but and had to cancel a dinner date with my wife and friends...it was the start of a love/hate relationship. I cut and pasted the wiring to get the '54 running just to convince my wife it wasn't a pile...I drove it off and on till 2007. we came into a little money and I got a little $$ to start on some REAL work. So, I tore it down to the frame, then the economy tanked, we had a baby, my wife stopped working and its been dime and penny ever since. bright side is I had pretty much bought all the parts, just never the time to do any work...But, its coming along...and I get to work on it a couple of hours a week!

Bought mine in '92...tore it down to the frame...hot rodded it...and I'm still doing mods...these projects never end. They are lots of fun, though.
