bed wood installed (at last)

Finally managed to get enough time to get the wood installed..

climbing under the truck, back out, setup, under the truck.. ugh.

still have to polish the new end rail..

Very, very nice! I like that the metal strips are dark, it works really well with that shade of green! Black chrome?

Sam,

That looks outstanding. I'm about a week or so behind you. That is really impressive. I'm going a different route with powder coated strips and painting my bed wood with POR-15 and exterior latex house paint.....going to give it a shot seeing as though I've resurrected my old bed wood. Post some pictures when I'm finished. I'm hoping it will look half as good as yours does. Job well done!!!

Never would have thought it.. and I think I am lucky, cause my bed is raised that inch, from under the bed side flange, to on top.
but because of the under bed tank, I had to do it one board at a time to get those three bolts in the back

still have to secure the tail ends and polish & mount the finish strip.

Thanks to all for the encouragement, feedback and support.

I didn't plan it, but look at the strip reflection in the side walls/tubs.
in pic 1 the bed looks like it goes on forever with the reflection in the front.

I'm sure it will look just as good, only a different style. Thats one of the cool things about this (hobby?), we can all do different things and still end up with fabulous looking results..

with the running boards on, I had to jack up the rear to get under the truck. getting the bolts in the front rail was a pita. I was unable to use the rear bolt hole in the rear cross member due to the roll pan.
I hear a bean bag will hold down the standard type bolts..

yes, post pics.. very interested to see what you're doing..

Sam
