460 transmission combo

What would be a good Transmission Transfer case combo for a 1978 F250 4x4 with a 460 . I use it as a daily driver with the occasional off-road excursions.

This is not my strongest subject, so i am asking for your help. I dont know what my current setup is. I tried looking at it, but cant find any numbers to identify it by.

460 transmission combo

I'd go with the C-6 slush box and a NP-205 xfer case. That is what is factory for the 78-79 Bronco's.

I have a 1984 Bronco XLT with a 460 / C-6 slush box / NP-208F xfer.

Ford's heavy duty 3 speed automatic transmission. Just what the doctor ordered for a big block.

The C6 is just about the most bullet-proof auto tannie of all time. I've never done anything REALLY drastic with my C6's, but there are guys here who'll tell ya about the time they ran theirs only 1/3 full, or drove home even though it was full of sand, or boiled the fluid out of it, and it's still working for them.
The NP 205 is a gear-driven transfercase, also an extremely durable unit. Many people consider them one of the greatest transfercases despite it's relatively anemic 1.96:1 low range.
