"The Wheelbase thread" newbie type question (all models covered)

Hi all - forgive the newbie type question as I'm sure this has been covered somewhere before, but both a search of here (73-79 forum), as well as the FAQ's came up with NOTHING (well nothing that dealt with my question) for my searches of both "wheelbase" and "wheel base". I then turned to google with the same luck. I can find the wheel bases as far back as 92-96 models - but nothing before

I was originally looking for the wheelbase on the short bed vs long bed supercab models, but for the sake of future visitors with the same type question - how about we list the wheel base of all the trucks 73-79.

How about some fill in the blank.

Standard cab short bed =
Standard cab long bed =
Supercab short bed =
Supercab longbed =
Super camper special =
Crew cab short bed =
Crew cab long bed =

I want to say my short bed crew is 155", but I need to go home and verify the vin tag before I know for sure.

my 1970 standard cab long bed says 131" - but I'm not sure if the bumpsides are the same as the dents.

Thanks Bill - I guess all it would have taken was a PM to you to get my answer, but this way it is here on the boards for everyone in the future

Also - I would have figured the wheel base was the same for the style of truck (like standard cab, long bed) though the F-100 to F-350 series, but it will be interesting to see where the differences are...

I wish everyone that emails and P/M's me for part number info would post the question(s) in threads instead, so everyone can take advantage of the info.

I get OVER 100 P/M's and emails a week...and now about 10 more of those Visitors Messages.

Tell then PM's and email come with a price, a thread is free, and for all of FTE's members to read,.....PRICELESS!,.............................

PS: I am sure you don't hear this as much as your should but Bill we DO appriciate all the great information you share with us. So many times we would be SOL with out you, thanks Bro!!
Don't know if your a drink'in man, but in this thread you are!

PSII: I hope when you retired you left the parts department in capable hands, you remind me of a older guy who worked in the parts department at the Ford garage where I worked. I was just a pimple faced kid at the time but his name was ROSS, and he knew his ***** when it came to parts.

If he said it, you know it was true! I told him I was going to make that "R" on his work shirt a "B" for BOSS!

CHEERS!

I had a queston to do with this. I did an search about wheelbases as well and this is one of few threads that was appliciable. I am interested in building a "dent side" SCLB 4x4. I may be able to source a 2wd complete truck that is wrecked in the front. I was wondering if i could use a frame from a 93-97 with the same cab bed comfiguration and the wheels would fit in the wheel wells properly? Also is the bed from a reg cab longbox the same dimensions including wheel well placement as the SCLB bed? And one last ? is the body mounts in the same place between the different model years of frames and, are the body mounts compatiable? thanks in advance.
