Whats it Worth?

im looking at a 1992 Ford F-150 4x4 regular cab with a good 5.0l motor and 133,000 miles on it. the body is straight with minimal rust and a gray and red paint job new power steering pump and ignition system. the thing is the trucks is needing a transmission. it has and automatic tranny that needs replaced. he is asking $900 or best offer. is that decent? would it be more expensive to replace the tranny with a manual tranny?

AAMCO quoted 900 to rebuild an E4OD? that's cheap-most places in my area are 1800 and up!

yeah for a complete rebuild of it! I just assumed because its an older trans and parts were cheap compared to my mazda and not to mention easier to rebuild.

aamco is the autozone of transmission repair places.

get my point?

to o.p. look for a $1000-1500 truck that does not need a trans.

hundreds of them out there.
