Ball Joints

So.....i've had the feeling for a few months that i probably should check out the front end as it seemed a bit loose....well yep...now that its out of warranty It needs an upper ball joint....should i

A....factory replacement (I like factory parts as they're what was designed for the truck)

B. Moog.....

C. Spicer....

D. AC Delco....they make parts for our trucks?????

Factory part is the cheapest through one of the online places...

By the way...whats the soonest any of you have had to put in a ball joint on our trucks???

vote for the Moog myself

alot of the lifted guys love those joints...and on other forums, they seem to be the joint of choice

also, the Moog is greasable...unlike the OEM

While greaseable sounds fine....I know i'll always forget to grease the 1 joint on the truck that needs greasing....so i'm probably leaning to a sealed for life joint.....

You're gonna need an alignment after the operation anyway, so I'd suggest replacing both front upper balljoints.

I, also, suggest Moog...they have a lifetime warranty.

anyone else had to put in ball joints and at what mileage......i'm leaning towards just replacing the one unless its common that they go bad every 50,000 miles.....anyone else had to replace them???

had right lower done at 110800 klm under warranty rest where all good
You can grease the OEM joints all you need is go to Auto parts store and buy a needle that fits on grease gun end and you can add grease to ball joints just don't over fill them
got the needle this spring when I found out you can doe this from a friend

I wonder what causes the ball joints to go out. I have been waiting for mine to go out because I snow plow but mine are still fine. Luck of the draw maybe?

I would vote Moog. I only have 36000 miles on my 06, all front end parts good. The last one I had to replace ball joints on was my 95 at 100,000 miles. I only had 2 out of 4 joints bad, but I replaced all of them because I didn't want to have to tear it apart again for a long while. Either way, I'd get the alignment checked after replacement.
