Turn Signal Switch, Air Filter, Oil Change, Belt....$562.00????

So my mom wanted me to take my truck in to get looked at, I knew it needed an iol change but I figured I would let them do it while they had my truck.
Then they tell me I need a new air filter, Turn signal switch and I thin kthey said serpentine belt.
So they told me including "labor", it would be $562.00...
I found all those parts for about 220.00

This just sounds ridiculouis to me.
Can anyone enlighten me on how this would be a fair price?

Where did you find the parts for 220.00 At ford dealer
90% of the time labor is more than parts.
how long did they work on it, whats it take to change the switch on these trucks.
was Tax included

The turn signal switch (arm assembly) on my 2002 was three hundred and something for the switch alone, so yes, that sounds about right.

Your getting screwed. The Turn signal switch, P/N 6L3Z13K359AA is $72. The serpentine belt P/N 7L3Z8620A is $36, air filter can be had for $10, oil change...I dunno, it's been a long time since I paid for one...$25? So, all in all a little over $130 in parts.

must have been different on the 2002...ok, you're getting screwed. buy the K&N filter and you'll never have to buy another one.

They use flat rate labor at the dealer, it is the way of the Ford Dealer. They usually charge $50.00 - $75.00 for the air filter installed. The belt is pricey, they charge $60-$70 for the belt and add an hour for labor. The oil change $40. The switch ??? The dealers now charge $85.00 - $90.00 an hour for labor.
Expect to pay that price , $562.00 for a full tune up : plugs, fuel filter, pcv valve, clean battery terminals, and lube locks. Tranny flush $100.00 Coolant flush $125.00

Well...I do think you are getting screwed but, you took it to a dealership so a price that high should be expected.

sounds about right for a dealer. Like others have said 90$ and hour and an hour doesn't go far when it's all by the time in the book. I only bring it to the dealer when something major happens and I'm clueless as to how to fix it myself...

Turn signals can really be a fun job, i wouldnt do one too cheap. I just replaced a drivers side mirror assembly on a '07 Lexus. $250 for it, and labor was free for my daughters' boyfriend. So what would the dealer have charged for this one?

If you have the dealer fix something for you. Go ahead and bend over cause you are about to get it with no lube.
