Brake and Turn signal not working...RT SIDE only
When I turn on the right turn signal it does the fast flash and the front turn signal works but the rear does not. Rt rear brake light does not work either.
Changed rear bulb no difference.
Checked fuses, all good.
Hazard flashers work on all 4 corners. So I know the bulbs are good.
What next?
Third brake light ?
Special fuse?
Help please

Did you try another bulb in the rear in case the one you put in was bad also? Usually, when I've had the same situation, it's because one of the signal bulbs is bad so I'm wondering if maybe the replacement bulb you got was bad also. Are all of the wires in the harness / bulb socket in good condition? Also, you might try scuffing the contacts in the socket and use a small amount of dielectric grease on the end of the bulb that plugs into the socket or down in the socket and see if that helps.

Maybe all you need is a new flasher.

Fill out your profile so we can help you better. What year is your truck? ect. Did you try another bulb as Powerstroke72 suggested?

If you rule the BC out, check the splice for the trailer wiring loom and make sure you haven't lost a ground or connection. If you've got a loose wire that's come out of a connector, it may be grounding on the frame although, I would suspect if that were the case, it would blow a fuse.
If you've got power to the socket and it is working with the hazards, I'm still kind of guessing it may be one of the two filaments in the bulb itself. Sounds like the flasher is working correctly.

John, the filament for the brake/turn is the same as the hazard, so the filament is good.
However it is all academic at this point because I put it back together and it did not work still. Then I went to do some errands and it works fine !!!!!???
I am glad it works but I would rather have found out why it did not work in the first place.
Thanks for all the responses, I don't think the problem is solved, but the symtom went away.

Goerge, I think you answered your own question. The brake and turn signal do indeed use the same filiment in the bulb. The other filiment is for the tail light. Therefore, if the hazards are working the bulb is OK, therefore the problem is in the turn signal wiring to the back light, either from the factory wiring or from the brake controller. Take a multimeter with the turn sinal on and start at the socket and work your way forward towards the switch. Good luck.

Most likely, it's the multi-function switch - the entire directional/hazard/wiper switch.
If the bulb is blinking when you hit the hazards, that means the entire harness and everything else up to the multi-function switch is GOOD.
The only thing that changes between the hazards and the directionals is inside that switch.
