me + electrical = BALD AT 16!?

as the title says im not a fan of electrical work so im gonna need some help to get this project done and keep some hair till im at least 30

my first mystery is i have NO daytime running lights i have no clue where to start here as i dont even know if the truck had them from factory so how am i to tell if it has DRLs and they are just disconnected or if it doesnt and then im in trouble

then its off to the reverse lights which dont work...im thinkin the switch on the tranny but i havent made it that far yet

thanks guys

It would depend on if you have an DRL Module or not. If you do it would be located at the Front LH side of the lower radiator support.

Isn't it a requirement to have DRL's in Canada?

I believe it is, and if the truck does not have them, they have little retro fit boxes they add to make the lights run all the time. We had a discussion before on this and if I remember correctly, a guy from Canada said all you need is the running lights to be lit to be legal.

yeah its law thats why she failed the inspection...among other purposely disabled safety equipment lol now i gotta put everything i took apart back together for a day

there is a chance the truck is from the states but im not sure but ill check that rad support tomorrow and see...if it has nothing is it a huge deal of work or can i just jimmy rig then to work till i pass inspection then return them to not working...DRLs make getting away from bush parties without a large ticket slightly more difficult

I take it you are talking about the 1991 truck.
The attached file tells how the system works and I would not know how you would be able to wire it to do all of this if they check for all of its operations.

Good Luck.

Check around for the retro fit boxes. You are not the first to run into this in Canada.

If your truck does not have the DRL Module just unplug the jumper and plug it into the Module you get. You should be able to find the modules at a salvage yard or the Ford Dealer.

1995 DLR Module:

The 15A272 is the base number for the part and should be on the module someplace but it will be something like F5T?-15A272-??.
The jumper is a part that sticks in the end of the wiring and you would not have the module.
