If you don't use the 4x4 you have more problems

I am a BIG believer if you never use the 4x4 that you will have more driveline problems, I believe the more you use 4 wheel drive the more it loosens up and lubes the front axle, the cv joints, the bearings, transfer case and less problems you have with it.
I own a new 09 F150 and the members of this board have critized me, called me names, call me a hick cause i take my truck off road.
THATS WHAT 4 X 4 IS FOR
I ask? If you never want to take your 4x4 truck off road then WHY DID YOU BUY A 4 X 4 FOR?
yea, I have fun, we take the girls, its fun to hear them scream when we drive down a vertical hill, we take beer, chainsaws and a empty cooler
(you guys that do off roading know what the empty cooler is for)

I am proud of who I am and what I do for fun and excitement, its MY TRUCK, I paid for it and if I want to take it off road I can!

Ah you Hick! Just kidding, I completely agree with you, what in the world is the point of 4-wheel drive if you never take it off a paved road...the only reason I would get a 4-wheel drive truck and not go offroading with it would just get some power to it and do some 4 wheel burn outs haha. But I live in south dakota and hell, were all hicks up here, I got a 69 highboy and less than a few days after I got a $4500 paint job, I was goin mudding through the fields. If you got a 4-wheel drive truck, use it, if not, give it to someone who will!

they are pussies!!! i would say most people who have 4x4 have never really needed 4x4 they just put it in as a precaution i don't think i can ever remember a time where i wasn't screwing around and needed 4x4 in the snow, my truck does fine in 2wd with snow up to about 8in, same with my dad's 5.3L 02 silverado 2wd

i would say just call them pussies for getting a 4x4 truck and not ever using it

i just got a $1800 paintjob not too long ago and i've had my truck offroad since i'll admit i'm more carfull about trees rubbing up against me now but i still have fun

i think you should post a link to the thread where they bashed you and we can ALL go up there and make fun of them for having 4x4 and not knowing how to use it

There ya go.

This thread shows a big draw back of new 4wd systems. I "excersize" and warm up my 4wd system by just locking my hubs. I warm it up in the way to the trail so it's all warm and lubed when I need it. You guys with auto only hubs can't do that.

OK I give, I go wheelin but don't know what the empty cooler is for?

i would assume it's for the empty cans of beer so you don't have them exposed in your bed incase you get pulled over on the way home? i usually just use my toolbox for everything beer/illegal stuff related and if i get pulled over it's locked and i don't have the key it was locked when i bought the truck

Caddi's and Linc's come in 4 wheel drive

I drive like a old fart on the pavement. But I STILL drive out to the mud bogs and drop it in and come home covered... like you have to wash it 3 times dirty.

What about us old farts who don't go muddin but find that 4WD sure comes in handy pulling fence posts, or snaking the 5th wheel across the wet grass in the campground?

Our founding fathers were wise in drafting the constitution. A guard against tyranny was written into the second amendment. In order for a free people to stay free they must be stronger than the government. An armed man is a sovereign citizen; a disarmed man is a subject.

4x4 is for when you need the traction whether it be in a campground, on a snow covered road, in a mud hole, or on a power line. It's the people who live in the metro areas and down south who don't even know what locking hubs and diffs are that are wasting their time having a 4x4.

I believe that if you don't have 4x4, you are not prepared for Northern MN. Just ask any of the 3 people I pulled out of their driveways yesterday. I use 4x4 all winter long up here, not so much in the summer my muddin' days are behind me.

I think they were pokin' at people who buy 4x4's and don't enguage the 4 wheel drive. I work my truck but I also have fun off raod with it.

my DD is a LTD,(its got 31x11.50R15s on the back) usually i can get around just fine with it.. but i do have a 4x4 on stand by.. (i live in ND) this year i found out that if i can't go anywhere in my LTD i should just stay home.. i took my Dads 08 6.4 dually to town when we got that 16.5 inches of snow on monday, and on my way home i got stuck in the middle of the road.. snow was up to the top of the hood.. had to walk home and get the GF and the Bronco with 38.5 boggers on it to pull it out.. the car will drive through deep enough snow that ive been pushing it with the front bumper before.. so about a foot deep..

AS far as snow goes our 93 2wd ranger goes through more snow than my dad's 08 4x4 F-150.
