body repair panels
The bedside above the rear wheel wells on my 1991 f150are starting to rust through just above the aluminum molding Iwas wondering if anyone makes a weld in repair patch for this. I loooked in JCWitney, but they only offer this patch for ford trucks up to 1986. I called the ford dealer and they want $557 for a new bedskin, and an aftermarket company wants $300 for a new Bedside
Thanks
Thanks

You will probably have that much $ in welding in a patch and filling, priming, and matching the paint. Then, chances are the other side will rust out very soon after. Cut your losses now, buy a take-off or other rust free bed, paint it to match, and sell your old bed to someone whos bed is in much worse shape. Thats what I would do.

You can buy wheel well patch panels from CertiFit (www.certifit.com) or Murphy's Distributing (www.murphysautobodyparts.com). I have bought them from both companies for my '88 Bronco and they were around $85 each (can't remember exactly how much) plus shipping. I haven't put them on yet but plan to this spring.

Hey ya'll, Jus wanted to offer my two cents worth..
If you know how to weld, and can handle a Spray can, you can change the rusty spot in ur driveway..
it is Easy Just no matter what you do, make sure you put a rust Proof Coating on the backside of the new panel, I would take off the inner fender on the other side, and Clean it, and do the Rust proofing to it too, unless it is rusted through, put a Rust Converter on it thn under coat it.. Will Last alot Longer!
If you want to do it at home, Justu se some GOOD quality Spray Primer.. and some Good bondo to fill in the Gap. Any more questions email me at FOreStarRacing(No Email Addresses In Posts!) ive changed a Few body panels before.
Good Luck!
