utility beds

I have a '94 F-350 dually/long box ehich has a flatbed on right now. I don't really like the looks of the flatbed, so I'm thinking about getting a nice bed to put on. Except, suposidely the truck came from the factory with a chasis and frame. I heard it was designed as a utility truck, so the only thing that could fit on back would be a custom flatbed, since the frame would be too wide. Any suggestions on what I should do? I really would like to add a box.

Hi,
Your frame should be the same width as any other ford of that style all you have to watch is the length from cab to axle. that was the only thing I know of that was changed on the cab/chassis combo check your measurement then measure a dually pickup if it is the same the bed will fit if not you could stretch the bed if need be but it would be cheaper to build a flat bed than to stretch the bed. It might be cheaper to go with a flatbed, but I really think the truck would look far better with a bed.

Hi, well, the only difference sjould be the cab to axle length if that is the same the bed will bolt right on if yours is longer than regular then you could cut the front out of the bed and cut the front of a second bed (with a piece of the sides ) and weld them back together to get the right length.
