Louisiana Edition F150?

Ford/Mercury dealers seem to be the only ones to offer regional models. Most of the time they have popular options and the unique area badging. We have had Bostonian Cougars, Patriot F150s, Etc. Some of the items are dealer installed. I've always wondered what other areas of the country were offered.
Not to fan the fire, but I had a 86 Burb that made it to 250k with 3 teenage drivers and lead foot wife. That being said I drive my 95 and 92 work truck primarily for their reliability and ease of maintenance. Most of my friends 90s and 00s trucks seem to be expensive to maintain and even though most are tradesmen they tend to refer service to the local garage. I let the garage do things like ball joints and a local lube place does LOF on the truck in the winter but I still do the "topside" stuff. My current 95 has 195k it runs great and has no major mechanical issues.

I towed a '76 Chevy Caprice with over 187,000 miles on it on Saturday. It had a dead battery that could not be jumped. It was a total piece of crap, leaked a bunch of oil all over the rollback, but it was still going, which counts for something.
One of the wreckers at work is a '05 Chevy 4500 4x4, its a badass truck. Problem is the service light is always on and two weeks ago it would not start for absolutely no reason. After having the batteries unplugged for 30 minutes or so, it started up, nothing was actually wrong with it. This truck is the only real experience I have had with Chevys and it seems to be a good truck, I like it a lot. Handles good with a load and the Duramax makes good power.
I'm still a Ford guy, but I gotta say that the biggest piece of crap on the road right now is the not a Chevy or even a Dodge, its the new 6.4L Powerstroke. We tow a lot of '08 Superduties to the dealership with engine problems.

chevy has a badge in texas its like the texas edition or something like that i dont know. but ford also has one and its just the badge. unless yall dont have the king ranch editon witch i think that every were? is it? and that 6.4l is a piece of junk but give it a couple of years and it will be good. but you cant argue the cummins engines are some of the best engines

Totally agree with you here. The whole problem is that it was rushed into production without enough testing, same problem they had with the 6.0. Hopefully they stick with the 6.4 long enough to get it fixed. I have drove one of the '08s and it made good power, so if they get the reliability ironed out, they will have a good motor.
Also agree about the Cummins being one of the best engines around. We have a Cummins in the 3-ton rollback at work, it only has 210 HP so its slow, but it gets the job done.

as for the special edition thing, different states call diff packages diff things, all you can do is call a dealer in LA and see if they know the diff

I saw a F150 in the wrecking yard the other day with Texas/ Oklahoma edition badges. As far as the Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge debate....it all depends on how you take care of them. I have driven Ford, Chevy and Dodges with well over 200,000 miles on them, never leaked a drop of oil and still had the original tranny. Change the oil every 3,000 miles and your good to go.

we have an 02 suburban with 173*** miles still running strong. its eaten 3 trannies though. We have an 02 malibu with over 160k. We have a 1990 gmc safari with over 201k. my brother's 01 mustang has over 160k. my truck, an 87 f150 only has 85k lol. imagine that, the oldest vehicle with the least miles...

oh, and my 94 truck at this moment has 190,3XX miles on it. my bros 92 explorer has 118,000 on it, and my moms 00 buick only has 70,000(?) on it. we got one of those scam calls about a vehicle warranty being expired the other day. um.....about that.
no words need to be said (except thats a chebbie on the hook);
fyi, thats a Kenworth wrecker. Kenworth is owned by PACCAR, which also owns Peterebilt , which, like Ford, has a oval as an emblem. this proves, ovals are better that bowties.
