61 F100 223 Motor Mounts
So, this is spinning off of something I saw on the fordtruk.com forum...I am trying to slowly reassemble my wife's truck. I got the front end under it, and am gathering pieces to finish the powertrain install. I am putting the 223 back in the truck, and as many of you know, it uses 3 motor mount points. All 3 points use an upper and lower mount, all 3 mounts the same. According to a post I saw on the other forum, if you buy the mounts over the parts counter, the upper mount will be correct, but the lower mount will not be. Has anyone got any experience with this? Apparently it is the same with the 292. My other issue is that the original motor mount bolts are too big to fit thru these new mounts. This is somewhat confusing...can someone clear it up?

The upper rubber insulators are not the same as the lowers.
They may look the same now, but are flattened out and distorted.
I assume this is 1961/64 F100 2WD.
If for a 4WD, the following parts will not all be correct.
3) C1TT6A061C .. Rubber Insulator-Lower / Obsolete
MCDONALDS OBSOLETE PARTS in Rockport IN shows FOUR: 812-359-4965.
KLIMESH AUTO SALES in Calmar IA has TWO: 563-563-3241.
JST AUTOMOTIVE in Lebanon TN has ONE: 615-443-3086.
COBURN FORD MERCURY in Boonville IN has ONE: 812-897-5838.
GRIESEL MOTOR CO. in Okarche OK has ONE.
SAPP FORD in Baxley GA has ONE.
VALLEY FORD-MERCURY in Sparta TN has ONE.
---------------------------------------------
3) C3TZ6068D .. Rubber Insulator-Upper / Obsolete
MCDONALDS OBSOLETE PARTS shows SIX.
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has TWELVE: 800-543-4959
JONES-WEST FORD TRUCK in Reno NV has 16: 775-329-8800.
FREEWAY FORD TRUCK in Lyons IL has EIGHT.
-------------------------------------------
NOTE: MCDONALD has not updated the info on the obsolete parts locator site in two years, so the quantity may not be correct.
Part number source: 1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalog.
You can buy a CD of this catalog from hipoparts.com for around 22 bucks.

Thank you ND. I bought them at the local Parts Plus. I thumbed thru Dennis Carpenter and according to them all 3 uppers are the same, and all 3 lowers. But what I saw on the other forum was that you can't get the correct lowers from most parts stores. I guess I may check on the Ford parts and see about the cost on them. The cost of one rubber from Dennis Carpenter is the same as all 3 sourced locally. But I guess you gotta pay the money or have the wrong parts...

The three lower insulators are the same: C1TT6A061C
But...as you can see by the part numbers...the upper insulators are not the same as the lower insulators.
The Ford dealers will be cheaper than the obsolete parts vendors.
The parts are obsolete, the dealers can no longer return them to Ford, so...they are STUCK with them.
