Help with coil packs and spark plugs
HI I have a V8 excursion with 85K miles, last year it had 72K and we were having a miss fire so I took it to the local ford dealership. They said my #1 was miss firing so they replaced it. A month later I had another miss fire and it was #5 and we replaced it. 2 weeks later we had a 3rd miss fire and it was #6 this time and at that time we just got fed up with fixing them singly I just replaced the rest of them. Total I paid almost 2K. In december we had another miss fire so we took it in and it was the #1 again and a month later we had #5 go out and they were both covered under worrenty so I didnt have to pay . Today I was out running around and I had another miss fire and this one was covered also but since we are going out of town with this excursion I went ahead and replaced the rest of them so I dont have to worry about it when I am out of town. My question is WHAT CAN I DO this is crazy a vehicle with 85K miles should not have had their coil packs and plugs replaced 2 times over 12K miles. PLEASE RESPOND IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS

I think you should get your plugs changed if you it is still on the original plugs. You will need to change the boots as well.
When you get the misfires, was it raining out or was the ground wet? Could be your boots are old and cracked and is allowing water to get down in there causing an arc. That could ruin your COPs.
You could get some extra COPs and put them in your front center console for back up along with a (7 mm?) wrench. That way, if you get a misfire while you're out of town or camping, you won't be left stranded. You'll have to find out which one is bad.
