2001 Windstar water in cylinders

Hey guys, I have a problem that's got all of us at the shop stumped. A good customer of us called and has water freezing his back 3 cylinders on his wife's van and there is ice on the plugs. The oil also has water in it. No coolant loss, pending a compression test. I cant figure how it is getting in there, unless an intake gasket or something is leaking water into the engine, but I find that hard to figure. Anyone have any ideas or know of things to check?? Could water be leaking into the cylinders when it rains or snows if there is a gasket bad?? It is a ling shot and doesn't make sense to me but its worth it to ask. Thanks guys!

freezing?

how does he know the water is freezing?

is it water or coolant

yes bad intake gaskets will cause coolant in cyl and left sitting long enough will leak past rinngs into the oil pan.
