However I will admit. That if you get somebody to make it for ya it would be like ten times stronger.
All these after market bumpers that are mass produced and bought are usually thin gauge steel. Im not much of a welder myself but I was told that if I got 1/4" plate for my winch bumper that Im going alot stronger then most..
3/4's of my winch bumper is heavier gauge steel like that. I was told it should last quiet awhile.
What's your out look on it there Saleen??

My bumpers will weigh a lot, so maybe not for everyone, but thats what i want.
I am putting 2 receivers in my rear bumper, right in the middle of it height wise, and about 1/4 way in from each end, for a bike rack i can slide in, and then making 2 more bike carriers, each one is going to be made of smaller box steel, so they slide into each other.
Will be able to carry 3 motorbikes on it, if all 3 pieces are used.
Or if i want to say carry a big street bike i can on the first one, as it will have an insane load carrying limit.

It really depends on how its made.
A large tube bumper might be good for your needs to, and are sometime lighter, as well as being very strong.
Thats what i made for my 2004 F150 was tube bumpers to keep the weight lower, and strength up.

The set I made for a friend were pretty close to what I want on my truck, and his weighed about that.
Although I am adding the roo bar part to my front, so that will add about 50 pounds.
The rear will not gain too much as I am just adding a couple pieces as a receiver to it....maybe 20 pounds.
I am making them both capable of accepting a winch that can just be hooked onto them.
Then I do not need to pack the winch around for day to day use, and its able to pull me forwards, backwards, or drag a dead car up onto my trailer if need be.
I kept the winch off my last 1 ton, as it was a good winch, and i wanted it.

Its not like I need my winch on for daily use.
But when I plan to go out hunting etc. I just throw it on, and it can be moved anywhere easily.
I have extra long wires for it, so it can be used, on the rear, or the car trailer.
The equipment trailer use is very handy.....A few years ago we dragged a friends dead John deere 310 backhoe up onto the trailer even with it, and hauled it to the shop.
Or when I blew the motor up in my 1/4 mile car a few years back...oooops

Ok sweet. The news said its supposed to be plus four tomorrow. Lol break out the shorts.
So we won't be as cold.
What napa did you go to? I was in the one on tranquill and the guy there was a moron. He was telling me that there are no differences in the spring rates of leaf springs . I just walked out I was going to waste my breath. Anywho what i was getting too. Do you think I should go with a softer rate? or would a winch bumper w/ winch make those things move a bit.

When I get a winch I am looking to get a setup that can be moved from front to back. I already have a hitch reciever in the back, but to mount the winch on the front would I be looking at getting a whole new bumper, or could I rig a reciever on the stock front end? Maybe a broad question but a general idea would help.
