I have a 2007 KR Screw 4x4 that is coming off lease in two months. Buy-out is $20200.00 canadian. I can't justify buying new at this time, so am considering buying out my lease. Just wondering if anyone has ever had success negotiating a better buy-out price and what is the best way to go about it. Lease is with Ford credit. Thanks in adance.

 

I had a friend who had a lease with Chrysler. At the end of the lease he negotiated with them to buy the vehicle, even though the amount due for the buyout at the end of the lease was in black and white. They negotiated and he bought the vehicle at almost $3500 less. Probably the economy has something to do with it, but I would give it a try.

 

what happens is if the market value is less than the residual for your truck, the dealer can buy it back from Ford at their market cost. they then can sell it to you at the market value which could be less than your residual. My dealer has set me up with that option, i think it depends on how much the dealer wants to make off you, or how much they value business relations/vs. making profit...
