1997 Cab/Box to 1999 Frame
It going to be easier it i do it this way.....um gonan pay the local wreckers to do this for me.....hes ussaly pretty good to me.....so in a few days I will be gutting the dash and wire harnes for the old 4.2L from 97, and replaceing it with the one from my 1999...If I could get the cab lifted onto the 1999 with motor, I t would make more sence either way I gotta lift the motor...the 97 cab had a 5 speed, so its got a cluth pedel....how do I connect the brakes once the 97 cab is on the 97 fram, also make more sence, the 99 frame has a hitch, and the 97 does, the 99 frame is alot less rusted, and the brales are better all around.

Is there any special reason NOT to type clear posts that are easy for other people (the ones you want to help you) to read?
If you want to swap cabs it isn't hard. I just soaked all the fasteners in penetrant (Kroil is the best) and had at it. I'm most of the way through a frame swap (just waiting on bolting the cab down etc) and here's how I did it:
I had a truck with frame damage so I removed the bed, unbolted the cab, and jacked it up so I could set cross braces under it to hold it clear of the bad chassis. I then cut the bad frame in half with a Sawzall for convenience in handling the sections. I pulled them apart from under the cab and set them aside.
I then slid the good frame under the cab by setting the differential on a piece of wood and winching it under (wheels removed for clearance). I had the engine installed since I'll be welding on a new core brace and had cut off the old one, but you can of course do the frame swap and drop in the engine afterwards.
I put a few pics in my album to illustrate.
