indepentent rear axle

indepentent rear axle

im building a 63 f100 and wanting to put an independent rear axle in it i found that a rear end out of a new charger will work just wondering if anybody has done this or any suggestions thanks for any input

Seems like that would be a lot of work.... Sure that old 9" likes to hop around....

no not sure just was wanting a nice ride with disc brakes and the wheel base is the same my frame is just narrower ill have to make mounts for the shocks and coils and subframe bolts which i can do at my job i just was wanting a nice ride with proformance cause i plan on driving this truck all over

I've seen people use such set up under their trucks so it must be worth while. Go for it. If I ever build an older truck I will install the same set up.

Well, the Charger set up is a Mercedes design, so you can't do much better.

Beware of alignment issues--check it out and make sure you retain adjustability and get the right spring rate.
