It has a4" spring lift and a 4.5" Front shackle reversal and 4.5" Rear Shackle flip for a total of 8.5". Tires are 38" mud grapplers but Nitto's idea of a 38" and mine are about 2" different, the tape says closer to 36".

The bumper I built

I really like that bumper? don't care for the color, maybe a flat blk or something darker. Good job making that man.

Thanks, I appreciate it, the color was a toss up for me, I actually, was going to paint it the same color as the truck, and I still may, but I got impatient and threw it on there after just blasting it with cast iron gray spray paint. I tossed around black too, I am not sure, it is coming back off either way because its not staying the color it is.

Its funny, I get asked that almost everytime someone sees a picture of the truck. The color is a factory Ford color, it is Ford paint code 42, and they call it Alpine Green Metallic. At least thats what they called it in 1989.

DieselBrad; where did you get those steps on your '97? Custom made? Do they mount to the frame or body? I like 'em a lot...

Nice thread. Here's mine, in action. 3" front shackle reversal. 35x12.5 BFG's.

Pallet of solid block 3,500lbs in bed!

Double trailering, hehe.

That's an amazing looking truck; I like it!! Mine is very similar, but the opposite color. I'm guessing you have a 7.5L...what gear ratio? When your bed is unloaded, how does the truck sit? Mine has that factory rake now and I would like to do the shackle flip to smooth out the ride and fit bigger tires, but don't want it to sit exactly level and look saggy with a load.

To others that have used the SKY kits; they advertise 3" in the front and 4.5" in the back. My truck already has the "rake," so effectively adding another 1.5" of difference in the back would only make it worse...or am I missing something? They mention something about using an F250 block in the rear which is a bit shorter.

Great looking trucks, guys!

Thank you!

You nailed it. Well if your rear springs are still in good arch then it will have the rake, then when you do the leveling kit it'll look great. Mine sits exactly level at 43.5" from fenderwell-to-ground when unloaded. Not lifted in rear.

I have factory 4:10 ratio and a yes a 460

Thanks; I saw some info in your gallery after I asked the question. Mine just passed 21,000 original miles; I would say the rear springs are still in good shape...they've been sitting a while! What kind of spring stack do you have in the rear? Looks like your truck gets used too; how does it tow/haul with the bigger BFG's from a handling standpoint? I don't want to go any bigger than than 315's with a 4.10/4.30 gear. I currently have 265's, 3.55 ratio, and the ZF-5 speed.

I still start off in 2nd gear with the 35's. It drives better with a load than without LOL. When empty the front-end tends to be a fuzz bouncy when repeated bumps are hit. I have those expensive alum Bilstiens and they still aren't enough. Nothing major to worry about. But I wanna get a dual shock setup in the front next $350 I have laying around. I'm getting ready to do headers and some other bolt on mods this month and make room for a supercharger soon. So who knows when the shock setup will happen.

I have stock spring stack in rear. Not sure what code or whatever? And WOW, 20k original miles!!
