Front and Rear Axle Capacities for 97 F-350 CC Dually
Can anyone confirm the axle capacities for my 1997 F-350 crewcab dually. My door sticker shows a GVW of 10,000 pounds. I suspect that the limiting factor is because of the load range D tires which are 235-85-R16. Is this correct?

RAWR 7,500 lbs
FAWR 4,500 lbs
The main reason for the 10,000 lbs is that rules change for above 10,000 lbs, and often registration is higher.
Both should be there on the sticker on the line below the GVWR. The sticker also will list pressures above what load range D tires can take. Someone put tires on there that are below what they should be.

Brakes are the limiting factor in the equation. I'm pretty sure that load range D you will still be alright on the tires. The only thing is that I think those tires are going to be to wide the correct size should be 215. There is a possibliltiy that the tire side walls could touch when loaded

joe_13894 and nelstone74, I appreciate your answers to my question. My concern is loading with my camper aboard. Have yet to weight it but will be doing it in the near future.
nelstone74, you are correct and this morning I checked and the tire size is 215-85-R16 not the 235 I mentioned in my post. I think that I may look at the rear disc brake kit since buying a new truck is not in the cards. I ordered this truck in 97 and to date it only has 63K miles on it. It still looks like new and suffers only from lack of driving.
joe_13894 I am collecting the components to install the camper charging system you outlined for me. Never knew how dear copper wire has become but since I need it cost will not be factor. Thanks again for your effort.

I bought my wire from a Ebay guy in Florida. He advertised it as "4 gauge battery wire" and sold it by the foot. You could then just order the length you wanted and he'd cut it to length. Best price I could find. His member name was something like "battery guy"
On the tires: If they are 215's, they definitely need to be load range E. You're probably overloaded on the front end empty.

Load range C is a tire that's usually used on 1/2 tons and SUV's.
I've got D's on both my trucks. 35x12.50-16.5's that are rated for 3385 lbs and 255-85-16's that sre rated for 3000 single and 2755 dual.
Check your sidewall, the load range and weight ratings are right there.
