98 5.4 the rear wiper does not work if I hit the back near the wiper some times it works. how do you take off the inside panel to look at the wiper motor and wires
If your rear glass is not latched all the way, the wiper will not work. It's a safety lockout to prevent the wiper from running if the glass is left open.

If I remember correctly there are screws attaching the pull strap to the door that must be removed. Other than that I think it is held on by those push-pin type (christmas tree) connectors.
my rear wiper has been doing that for literally 5 years... its common. If i doesnt work, i go back there and shake it around, and it starts working again... as long as it keeps working, its not worth replacing yet... to me anyway...
it's pretty simple to take the panel off. There's like 4 screws holding it around the edges and then it has those push-in type clips that'll just pop out when you pull on it.
like i was saying... that thing has gremlins in it... and mine has always been like that. When u turn it on and it wont move....leave it on... and go give it a littel help by tugging on it, and it will start working fine again. Mine only freezes up on me like 2-3 times a year... it works fine 90% of the time.
