Replacing 460 engine

I have an 87 model carbed 460 engine in a motorhome, & I'm planning on building a replacement engine & my question is, how close will an earlier year model say like 78 or 79 engine be to the 87 model.

I know from reading, a good many parts of the 460 engines are the same through the years, blocks & such, with some small changes to the later models. This engine has things mounted on the front that are different from a pickup truck engine & wondering if the holes in the block & heads will be in place for mounting those thing back up.
Heads are, E6TE-DA castings & have three mounting holes drilled & tapped into them on each end to hang this stuff on.
Thats about the only thing I think might be different other than the rear sump oil pan.
I figure you guy problably would know, dealing with them much as you have.
Thanks for your replys in advance.
