Canada V6 Diesel

I know Canada made a V6 diesel in their F series trucks but I can not find any information on it anywhere.

The reason I know you ask? Someone from Canada sold me the front grill emblem.

Does anyone have any information on this at all? I searched this site and what seems like the entire internet and have found nothing.

So what does this emblem look like or what does it say?? Never heard of V6 diesel, but what years do you think it may apply to?

I started working in a Ford Dealership in Canada in 1963, then had my own shop, and then had an Auto Parts store for 22 years. To the best of a failing memory I can not recall a V6 ford diesel, LN (Louisville) series maybe?

Pictures of emblem and the year and model that it came off of please?

There is one (V6 diesel) intended for the 2010 F100 (long delayed ranger replacement) I think (if they are still in business!)

Ford of Europe built a V6 turbo diesel for the Jag, Land rover and Peaugot lines and i think they also offered this motor for the industrial motor market, so it is possible that someone installed it in a F series truck.

seen a lot of different diesels retrofitted into Ford's over the years. Old Detroit Diesels, Cummins, Perkins and even a Hatz air cooled engine. this was all in the years before they offered a factory diesel.

I know the early eighties Rangers had a diesel..... except it was a 4-Isusu.... or however you spell that company
Chev had a V6 diesel....... of course it was just a modified 4.3 block....... never seen or heard of a V6 diesel in a F100/150/250/350 though just because I never heard of it definitely does not mean it doesn't exist.........

Here we go

Hello Guys,

I just took the picture. Hopefully someone can tell me more. Maybe it came from a later truck but the wholes and the curve of it fits perfect in my 1956 grill right where the V-8 emblem goes. It should be the first picture there.

Not sure if this will work I've never done it before. I didn't see an attachment button on this forum.

V6 Diesel

The only V6 diesel that I can remember in older F series trucks was a Cummins engine installed in the larger F700 up trucks. The earliest I can remember was in a 62 or 63 F1000. I've never seen one in anything smaller.

You can ask anyone anything you want?

Maybe it is a coincidence that it fits in the same grill. Were emblems from later years the same as the second gen rigs?

I also got to thinking maybe it is not a V-6 and that the V was just there for some other reason I can not think of. It could have been an inline.

Turn that puppy over, there should be a Ford ID number on the backside.

Looks like something from England...post whatever numbers you find on it.

Just because it says Ford diesel, doesn't mean the engine was built by Ford.

Prolly refers to a Dorset, Perkins...whatever.
