Lucas Oil?

I picked up a bottle of Lucas Oil today. Its supposed to help with slipping in the tranny and ease up the shifting. Before I put it in I wanted some of your input. Good or Bad idea?

I have always worn Red Wing boots....they seem to wear good and plenty of traction when pushing your truck backwards...LOL

its an oldschool trick to add a cap full of brakefluid to a slipping tranny. it only works if it slips due to leaky seals, not burnt clutches. the brake fluid reacts with the rubber and causes it to swell. my seals were hard and i knew i was on borrowed time. it was a "cruise only" tranny and not for hard throttle abuse but you all know how well that works...... needless to say it let go on me and got bad fast. i decided to go for broke and dumped the whole bottle of brake fluid in (drastic attempt to make it home) let the car run for 15-20 minutes and tried drivinig it, the slipping was gone just enough to cruise home very easy, she would slip going up hills but it made it home. i was amazed. by no means would i recomend this as a fix or patch to anyone, it was purely a drastic attempt to not call a tow truck. in my case it worked. will it work again? lets hope i never have to find out.

just standard maintenance.....most oil additives just cover up the problem for a bit....use a good quality oil and regular changes should be all you need......I am approaching 400k and actually lengthened the changes than the original owner.....that was after a Blackstone test and said my oil was still good.....I change my oil at 8-10k intervals and my tranny is due now that I have 45k on it...but I am sending that fluid in to get tested as well so it might be fine
