#7 Injector Bad? or intake valve problem
Started engine after about 6-7 weeks of not running. Started right up and sounded good. Then I noticed a wet spot and a leak dripping on the ground off of the rear of the right exhaust manifold. The leak is weeping out between the head and the exhaust manifild at the #7 port.
The liquid felt like diesel fuel and felt slippery like diesel fuel.
Only three things changed from last engine start to this start
1. Changed the oil
2. Replaced block heater.
3. Added fuel stabilizer. Tank of fuel has sat for 8 months.
This morning i started the truck wth the injector vc connector for #5 & 7 disconnected. The weeping fuel stopped. After 10 minutes I stopped the engine, reconnected the #5+7 injector harness VC connector and started the engine. It started right up and within 15 seconds the weeping liguid at the #7 port returned.

Did pull #7
I did say that. Pulled it out slick as whistle and showed the injector to a Ford mechanic and he gave it the Slipped it right back in without a hitch, glitch or 2nd thought. Didn't notice anything wrong or difficult. I know more now about injectors than I did then.
But the engine ran for about an hour total - maybe 3 starts and stops, when I started after changing the glow plugs and UVCs. No leaks then.

When an injector is reinstalled it NEEDS new o-rings. BUT what you describe doesn't sound like the injector is at fault. It doesn't make any sense that unplugging the injector makes the fuel stop unless you have no compression. Its possible and you should run a compression test on that cylinder at this point.

New or Rebuilt injectors
I ran the truck this afternoon - now it is blowing white smoke rather steadily.
If you didn't know that the leak was on the exhaust manifold, you'd never suspect a problem. it starts and drives just fine - didn't go far enough to really check for full power.
I have a discussion going with Jim at Rosewood about getting the DIY stage 1 repair kit. I'm thinking I might as well pull the VC check the #7 and at the minimum, use the DIY kit on the right bank then see if the problem is fixed.
I checked a lot of posts and you are always pitching in and helping alot. Especially on my posts. Thanks, Tim.
