My heater blower works on the high setting only, any thoughts?

 

Sounds like the resistor. Easy fix as the dealers usually stock them and you should also pick up a new plug as the have a habit of rusting together pretty solid, at least they do in this area. Good luck !

 

Under the hood in the heater box on the pass. side firewall there is a plug with I believe about 4 thicker wires. What it plugs into is bolted into the heater/blower box with two small bolts. This is what controls your heater speeds and when they get older they like to go out. It is in the heater box because to reduce the speed of the blower the current has to run threw coiled wires which get hot. The coiled wires are what corrode and fall apart over time and make the blower not work on reduced speeds.

resistor is bad.

easy to find and easy to fix.

 

Have band aids at the ready, lots of sharp edges in that area. But a easy fix, resistor is about $11.00 at autozone.
