What can I do in the way of a chip/tune to get a little more power?

There is a bit of plug and play unit's. But I also have a 97 triton and the big lack of power comes from the non pi heads swap too pi heads and you will get the best bag for your buck

Go with SCT X3 custom tuned, it can help and its a very flexible flash device.

Holds 3 custom tunes for your truck
It can be used on any Ford Vehicle so if you upgrade to a newer or different Ford Model it would still function.
Acts as a code reader for Any Ford Vehicle as well.
Email tunes can be downloaded on to it from your PC
Data Logging on device
Data Logging has a pass through to a Laptop
